The Project makes a real difference in people’s lives. Recently, Cimitrio and Juan sat down with Leonardo to talk about the Project’s work.
How would you describe the job of the NC Farmworkers Project?
We think you are doing a great job, the services and support that you have given to us has no price, the communication and personal relationship we have established is very good for us.

Could you tell me in which way the NC Farmworkers Project has contributed to solve some of the problems that you have faced?
The Organization has helped us to find medical attention and emergency medical attention when it’s been necessary as well as helping us to get ID’s, transportation, sometimes even food, a lot of information about pesticides, orientation about health issues and trainings in how to protect ourselves against pesticides.

Do you think the visits that you have had from the organization has helped you in any way, have they been helpful to solve any of the problems you have had?
The people from the NC Farmworkers Project have been always very friendly and supportive and they always help us in anything we could need.

Could you give any references from this organization to any other farm worker that you know from other fields?
We always refer the organization to other farm workers, when we see they need some orientation, advice or help.

Do you think that the job we do as an organization is accomplishing the expectations you could have from it? Do you really get enough support from them?
We think yes, because they always welcome us,and plus they are a Hispanic Organization and bilingual, when we dont have any Money they even ge tus food, they take us where we need to go, such as ge tour ID, or our social security number, they get the medications we need, and bring it to us when we go to the clinic and we get it in a very good price so we can afford to pay for it.

When you first got to the USA in NC how did you get to know about the NC Farmworkers Project?
Some one came to visit us, they told us about the programs they had and how they could help us and after that we got to know the people from the Organization.
